Earthquake hits in Denali park

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.67 struck in the heart of Denali National Park and Preserve at about 5:50 p.m. today, according to the Alaska Earthquake Information Center.

The earthquake was one mile deep, with an epicenter nine miles northeast of Kantishna.

Daily News readers from Fairbanks to Anchorage reported feeling the temblor.

No injuries or damage have been reported as a direct result of the quake.
