Alaska State Troopers have seized roughly 500 marijuana plants worth an estimated $150,000 in a Ninilchik pot bust that led to felony drug charges against three men, the agency says.
The arrests came Friday in the Kenai Peninsula town of 800 people.
Responding to a report of a marijuana grow operation, troopers say they found 232 pot plants and 27 harvested plants at the home of Kirk Eugene Turner, 54, and Christopher Shawn Norman, 31.
Using a second search warrant, troopers say they found another 255 marijuana plants in two different buildings at the Ninilchik home of Scott Bryan Hume, 48.
Turner and Norman are charged with four counts of fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, a class C felony, according to state court records. Hume is charged with eight counts of fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance.
