The Iditarod Historic Trail Alliance has awarded the Iditarod Trail Committee $27,000 to fund trail maintenance between Rohn and Post River on the Iditarod Trail, the committee announced Wednesday.
The award comes from the Alliance's Iditarod National Historic Trail Centennial funding provided by the Bureau of Land Management, federal administrator of the Iditarod National Historic Trail.
Trail work should be completed in July.
In other Iditarod news, Saturday may be the race's biggest day of the summer.
