Alaska unemployment at lowest in 2 years

JUNEAU -- Alaska's unemployment rate fell to its lowest level in two years last month, hitting 7.4 percent.
The preliminary figure, released by the state labor department, compares to 7.6 percent in February and 8.2 percent in March 2010.
The department says Alaska's unemployment rate hit 8.2 percent in late 2009 and early 2010. The department says Alaska's rate has remained below the national unemployment rate for 28 months.
The seasonally adjusted U.S. rate for March was 8.8 percent.
The last time Alaska was at 7.4 percent was March 2009.
